RealPlayer and QuickTime are the missing link that allows you to watch video and audio easily on the Internet. Both players are free to download and use. The links for the free player are typically hidden as they would rather you download the deluxe version from around US$9.95. For day-to-day use and watching all content on Tiscali the free player is more than suitable. You may need to download both players as not all websites provide video in Real and QuickTime format.

QuickTime Pro™ - Version5

You can download QuickTime for free and it will allow you to watch full screen movies, whether you use a Macintosh or Windows-based PC.

Instructions for download

Go to Apples site
Select your operating system, Windows or Macintosh
Select the right language (English UK)
Click download
You will then be prompted to Install and run QuickTime Installer. Click Yes
The software will now download and should take under 5 minutes to install on a 56k connection.
You need to type in your name details and any company name. It also asks for a registration code, but this can be left blank.

You have now installed QuickTime and should be able to watch videos on the Internet with ease.

RealOne Player™

RealOne is drastically different from previous Real Players. It is now a lot easier to watch video on the Internet and also the quality is improved. Real have also developed a more user friendly interface and you can also use the player instead of Internet Explorer or Netscape to view content.

Instructions for download

Go to Real Players site
Make sure you click on 'Download the Free RealOne Player Only'.
Enter your email address and press Next.
You will also be prompted to provide Real with a password, then click next.
The software should automatically load and install.

The RealOne player is greatly improved over previous versions. If you have an old RealPlayer it is really recommended to download the new version.
